Overview
An AI assistant app that combines conversational chat with task-specific tools — summarising, drafting and researching — in a single mobile interface.
Problem
General-purpose AI chat apps ask users to know what prompt to write. Less technical users wanted guided tools for the handful of tasks they actually repeat, not a blank text box.
Solution
We layered task-specific modes (summarise, draft, research) on top of open chat, each with its own guided inputs, so the app works whether someone wants a free conversation or a specific job done.
Outcome
Delivered a dual-model AI assistant with task-specific modes that made the product noticeably more approachable for non-technical users in testing.

Design process
A minimal, chat-first interface with quick-access mode chips above the input, and careful attention to streaming-text states so responses never feel like the app has frozen.
Development process
Flutter client integrating both OpenAI and Gemini APIs behind a shared abstraction layer, with Firebase handling auth, history sync and rate-limit-aware request queuing.
