Walking data, without the app fighting your battery.

Overview

A lightweight step and activity tracker focused on accurate background counting and minimal battery drain, with a clean weekly summary.

Problem

Many step-tracking apps drain battery quickly or bury the one number people actually check — today's step count — under promotional tiles and cross-sell banners.

Solution

We stripped the app down to a single-purpose home screen led by today's count, with everything else (history, goals, settings) one tap away rather than sharing the first screen.

Outcome

Delivered a fast, battery-conscious tracker that keeps its interface to a handful of screens without feeling incomplete.

Key features

Background step counting tuned for battery efficiency

Daily, weekly and monthly activity summaries

Distance, calorie and active-minutes estimates

Goal setting with gentle end-of-day nudges

Simple, single-purpose home screen with no clutter

Design process

A restrained, high-contrast UI with one large ring visualisation for daily progress and a muted secondary palette for supporting stats, so nothing competes with the primary number.

Development process

Built in Flutter using platform step-counting sensors with a low-frequency polling strategy and local SQLite storage, avoiding constant network calls to protect battery life.
